Interviewer: What do you like the most about musical theatre?
Andrés: I like the adrenaline, the constant stress you manage before entering to the stage. I also like very much the variability of it, the constant movement and change it provides, the mutation of roles you get to play.
Interviewer: What made you wanted to study musical theatre?
Andrés: I can´t remember a moment when I wasn´t acting or practicing in my life, I love what I do, I live for it and I can’t get to imagine myself doing anything different. What I get to feel and experience when I get on a stage doesn’t compare to anything else I have ever felt. I wouldn’t be able to really live and be happy without that.
Interviewer: If you could choose any role to play, which one would you choose?
Andrés: I actually have more than just one dream role, I aspire to do more than just own. I would really want to be Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Hamilton on Hamilton or Chorus line, Romeo in Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth in Macbeth. But I would also like to play original roles, roles that would be written for me. Another role I would like to play is someone possessed in a horror movie, that would definitely be on my bucket list.
Interviewer: If you could act with anyone in the entire world (dead or alive), who would you choose?
Andrés: the one dead it would for sure be Michael Jackson, he is one of my biggest inspirations. And Alive I would choose Meryl Streep, she is such a great actress! Or Morgan Freeman or Jim Carrie, I think all of them are really good actors they are impeccable at their work.
Interviewer: What is your biggest fear while performing?
Andrés: I think my biggest fear is the same all actors have, we share it and understand it. It would be the fear to get on stage and forget everything you have to do, for every time you practice to be a total failure! I really wish that never happens to me.
Interviewer: which role, from the one you have played before, is your favorite?
Andrés: that is actually a difficult question. I think I wouldn’t be able to choose one. Obviously I prefer the ones in which I am the main actor because I get to play more in stage. But even then I wouldn’t be able to love the other roles, I think all of them makes you discover little things about yourself. I think the roles show you more bout you than you could have known if you didn’t play them before, because we all have a little bit of all inside us. We all are Peter Pan, we all are a prostitute, we all are Willy Wonka…
Interviewer: who has been your biggest support in your career?
Andrés: My parents, fortune I have supportive and loving parents. They understand what I do and why I love what I do, they just let me be me and love me for who I am.
Interviewer: What would you change from the musical theatre industry?
Andrés: the industry, I think that it has to be a business, that you have to get income from it, it changes everything. This fact is the one that makes people suffer for doing what they love the most instead of having fun with every little thing they get to do.
Interviewer: What do you feel when you are performing in the stage?
Andrés: actually when you act you are living truthly under imaginary circumstances, that means that you don’t get to feel anything different from what your character is feeling. If you don’t feel what the character you are playing feels you are doing something wrong. But what I feel seconds before entering the stage is pure adrenaline, and I love adrenaline.
