First match (vs. Peru, October 5th 2015)
The Colombian team defeat Peru 2 – 0 with goals of Teofilo Gutierrez and Edwin Cardona in the first match road to the world cup, the game was in Barranquilla. In this match, Falcao was selected for the subs and entered to the match at minute 75 replacing Teo Gutierrez.
Second match (vs. Uruguay, October 13th, 2015)
Our team visits the Centenario stadium in Uruguay, a hard place to win versus a difficult team, Colombia lost this match 3-0, and it was a strong hit to our aspirations of assist to Russia 2018. Falcao start the match in the subs bench, and entered to the match replacing Santiago Arias but he hasn’t a good match.
Third match (vs. Chile, November 12th, 2015)
Colombia and Chile draws in a very interesting and combative match, our team start the match losing, but with a great goal of James Rodriguez, the game finished in draw. Meanwhile, Falcao had an injury playing for England team Chelsea and he couldn’t play this match.
Fourth match (vs. Argentina, November 17th, 2015)
Colombia received Argentina after two disappointing matches, but the result wasn’t as expected, Argentina won 1-0 with annotation of Lucas Biglia. Falcao was injured and he couldn’t assist to the match.
Fifth match (vs. Bolivia, March 24th, 2016)
Colombia visits Bolivia with the urgency of a triumph, the match in La Paz was really hard, and in the last minute, with annotation of Edwin Cardona Colombia won the match 2-3. Falcao doesn’t assist to this match because he was getting ready to play the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Sixth match (vs. Ecuador, March 29th, 2016)
Ecuador visits Barranquilla being the leader of the eliminatory, however, with a great match of James Rodriguez, Colombia won the match and stayed in the fight for the world cup. Falcao was in England getting ready to play the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Seventh match (vs. Venezuela, September 1st, 2016)
Colombia defeated Venezuela 2-0 in a great set game and revalidated his great moment. Falcao doesn’t assist to the game because he moved to another team, so he was expecting to get back to his best level.
Eight match (vs. Brazil, September 6th, 2016)
Against Brazil, the Colombian selection played one of the best matches in the eliminatory, but for a personal mistake of Stefan Medina, Brazil won the match. Falcao moved to Monaco, hoping get back to his best level.
Ninth match (vs. Paraguay, October 6th, 2016)
In a really similar match like the match against Bolivia, Colombia won the match in the last moment, with a goal of Edwin Cardona. Falcao wasn’t called for this match because Jose Pekerman wanted the forward in his best level.
